How to Convert Buddhist Year (BE) to AD and Calculate Age

BE and AD differ by 543 years, so one rule does it all.

Thai documents use the Buddhist Era (BE), while foreign forms, passports and most software use AD, so you often need to convert.

Counting age correctly

A full year is counted once the birthday has passed this year. If it has not, subtract the birth year from the current year and then subtract 1. Counting by hand often goes wrong across months, so the tool shows years, months and days, and how many days remain until the next birthday.

Why 543?
