ID Photo Sizes in Thailand: 1 Inch, 2 Inch and Passport in cm, and Printing on A4
You can make ID photos yourself if you know the size and set the print correctly.
ID photos are needed for job applications, cards and visas. Printing them yourself saves studio fees, if you know the size you need and set the print correctly.

How to do it with this site's tool
- Open the ID Photo tool
- Choose a front-facing photo. The tool crops from the center
- Choose a size and tap Create A4 sheet
- Save the file and print at actual size (100%), not fit to page
- Cut along the borders
Tips for a usable print
- Take a front-facing photo in even light against a plain background, because the tool can't remove backgrounds yet.
- If the print comes out smaller than the size you chose, your printer scaled it to fit the page. Set it to 100% or Actual size.
- Photo paper gives better color than plain paper.
- Check the agency's rules, such as background and clothing, before printing many copies.
Prepare a good source photo first
- Light: shoot in even light, facing the light, avoiding shadows on your face and behind you.
- Background: a plain white or light wall, as the agency requires.
- Pose: look straight at the camera, shoulders level, no sunglasses.
- Framing: show head to shoulders. The tool crops from the center, so if you are near an edge the crop may cut off your head or shoulder.
- Resolution: use the original camera photo, not one shrunk by a chat app, which will print blurry.
Print at home or at a photo shop
If you print at home, use photo paper or good quality paper and set the print to actual size, 100%, not fit to page. If you use a photo shop, bring the A4 file and ask whether they accept it.
Check the real size after printing
Measure one photo with a ruler. A 1 inch photo chosen in the tool should be 2.5 cm wide and 3 cm tall. If it is smaller, the printer scaled the page down. Go back and set the print to 100% or Actual size.
Agency rules
Passports, visas and some official documents have stricter rules on size, background and clothing. Check with the agency before you print a large batch.
